Sandbag Distribution (Volusia County / DeLand)

Volusia County opens sandbag distribution sites ahead of storms and announces them per event through Emergency Management channels (county website/PIN, AlertVolusia, social media) and local media. During Hurricane Milton (Oct 2024), the county's pre-filled sandbag distribution ran at the Volusia County Fairgrounds in DeLand, with additional DeLand sites at Fire Rescue Station 45 (2580 W. State Road 44) and Volusia County Road and Bridge (2560 W. State Road 44). The standard limit has been 10 sandbags per household.
